Endovascular Grafts

An aortic endovascular stent graft is used to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms and is an alternative to a surgical procedure in appropriate patents. The endovascular stentgraft consist of an expandable metal coil or mesh that is covered with a special fabric forming a tube. This is expanded within the aneurysm after inserting it into the circulation through a small incision and puncture in the blood vessel below the aneurysm. The stent graft prevents the aneurysm from enlarging over time and rupturing.
