Kawasaki disease (or syndrome) is a series of symptoms in children that come in phases. Theses symptoms include fever, pink eye (conjunctivitis), rash, change in the mucosal areas of the mouth, enlarged lymph glands, and peeling skin. Coronary artery aneurysms occur in 20 percent of cases. Inflammation of the heart can also occur in 20 percent of cases. Unless other complications arise or these symptoms worsen, the symptoms usually subside.
