Syncope

Syncope (or fainting) is a temporary loss of consciousness. It is usually caused by inadequate blood flow to the brain. This inadequate blood flow can be caused by hypotension (low blood pressure), stress, pain, changes in body position, dehydration, or exhaustion. Certain heart disorders can also cause syncope, such as heart arrhythmias.
