Capillaries

Capillaries are part of the circulatory system. They are tiny vessels that connect the smallest arteries and veins. Arteries carry oxygenated blood from the heart to the tissue of the body. Veins carry deoxygenated blood away from the tissue and back to the heart. Oxygen and nutrients are delivered to the cells of the body through capillary walls. The capillaries also remove carbon dioxide and other waste products from the cells.
