Double-Incision Mastectomy

A double incision mastectomy is a procedure that can be performed to remove chest tissue and masculinize the chest and can also be called a transgender mastectomy. A double incision mastectomy is used for patients with large breasts or breasts that sag. Each nipple is removed, resized, and grafted in a position that will give the chest a more masculine appearance. The skin closure is either u-shaped or horizontal along the lower border or the pectoral muscle.
