Medmovie translates complex medical and life science information into accurate, easy-to-understand, strategically focused visual media. Our clients leverage our experience, validated animations, and interactive media to create cost-effective innovative tools to help tell their stories. We are a team of graduate level trained Medical Illustrators and Animators who love our work and are passionate about our simple goal. We want our client’s stories to be fully understood.
Medmovie has been in business since 2000, and was co-founded by Rick Gersony, MFA, FAMA, and Kim Combs Gersony, MAMS.
Rick Gersony,
MFA, FAMA
Medmovie CEO
Rick received his BA from Columbia University in 1985 and his Masters in Medical Illustration from the University of Michigan in 1988. He has twenty years of experience in the field of medical illustration. Rick has served as Assistant Professor of Art as Applied to Medicine at Johns Hopkins University and his illustrations have been published in over 150 journals and medical textbooks. He has won awards from the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) for illustration, fine art and other media projects.
Sarrah Hussain, MS, MA
Marketing Director & Medical Animator
Sarrah joined the Medmovie team in 2024. She obtained her undergraduate education from Lehigh University, with double majors in both Behavioral Neuroscience and Fine Art. Graduating with high honors as a President’s Scholar, there she also completed her Master of Science in Business Management in 2022, after which she earned her Master of Arts in Medical and Biological Illustration from Johns Hopkins University in 2024. Sarrah especially enjoys exploring digital sculpting and 3D animation techniques using software such as Cinema 4D, ZBrush, and AfterEffects. Outside of creating scientific work, she enjoys oil painting and figure drawing—taking great inspiration from dynamic human form and beautiful novelty of the human body.
Dayna Menken, MS, CMI
Medical Illustrator & Animator
Dayna Menken joined the Medmovie team in early 2022. She is a Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI) who received her BFA from the University of Michigan in 2008 and MS in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014. Dayna enjoys working through all aspects of project development and creation, from creative direction to final visuals, and on projects that involve anything from 3d modeling and animation to 2d illustration and motion graphics. She also enjoys working on a wide range of medical and scientific content, with a particular interest in physiological structures and processes.
Jason Brady, MS
Medical Illustrator & Animator
Jason Brady joined the Medmovie team in 2022. He is an artist known for his luminous naturalistic oil paintings and received a BFA in Sculpture from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts. He received a Master of Arts in Biological and Medical Illustration at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. While studying at Hopkins he received the Frank H. Netter M.D. Award for his excellence in academic achievement and anatomical illustration. Jason is passionate about illustrating and animating the anatomical, histological, and molecular intricacies of the human body to help elucidate modern medicine.
Stephen Nachtsheim, MS
Medical Illustrator & Animator
Stephen Nachtsheim joined the Medmovie team in 2023. He received his B.S. in Zoology from Colorado State University. At the University of Toronto, Stephen earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Communications. Stephen enjoys the technical aspects of animation and illustration, with a special interest in 3D software like Zbrush and Cinema4D. He is also passionate about comparative anatomy, molecular processes, and helping a general audience understand complex scientific topics.
